She called the effort A Menu for Hope and she enlisted food bloggers around the world to contribute to a raffle. That first raffle has become an annual event and last year food bloggers collected over $62,000 for the UN World Food Program. There’s something marvelously circular in using food to generate food. It’s the way the natural world works as the food chain plays out until at the top of the heap we humans return to the earth to contribute to the next cycle.
