Picnic and Menu Tips

Consider serving hard cider (available in most grocery beer sections) as an alternative to beer or wine. Cider is more refreshing than either on a hot day.

Pack the drinks in their own cooler, when you reach your picnic spot everyone is going to want something cold to drink immediately and you don’t want to have to unpack all the food just to get a bottle of juice, water, or cup of wine.

Pack some munchies like pickles and olives on the cooler’s top level so folks have something to munch on while stretching and unpacking the meal.

Be sure to include several trash bags as well as plastic bags to quickly repack leftovers in.

If possible, put everything in the food cooler in hard plastic containers and put the ice on top. Cold air sinks so having ice on top will keep everything cooler.
