We have a recipe calling for mustard seeds and red pepper flakes…we can not eat seeds…can we substitute ground mustard and ground cayenne for the seeds? If so what would the ratio be for a tablespoon of seeds..Thank you.
With out knowing exactly what you are making it’s hard to determine if ground mustard and ground cayenne would work. However, to convert whole spices, including seed, and ground spices use this rule of thumb conversion – 1 Tablespoon of whole spice = 1 teaspoon ground spice.
