Is there an easy way to get just the skins off of cipollini onions?
Usually I just cut through the first layer of onion and pull it all off, however I’m running low on the onions for dinner and need to keep as much onion as I can.

Colleen,
Cut off the stem end, then blanch the onions in a pot of boiling water for about one minute. The skin should then peel off fairly easily.
I find that cutting a deep “x” in the stem works best to keep the onions whole. Then, after blanching, I drop into tepid water. Seems to do the trick.
