I just mixed sugar cookie dough for pecan bars. I now realize I don’t have brown sugar. Will the dough be ok covered until I can get to the store later today?
If the brown sugar is supposed to be IN the cookie, then adding it later will overmix your dough and they will be hard.
If it is a garnish for ON TOP of the cookies, then yes, cookie dough saves very well. Just cover tightly and refrigerate, or freeze for long term storage.
